These past couple months have been B.U.S.Y. So while I play catch up editing my recent sessions, I thought I’d start sharing some past work from before the blog days (a.k.a. anything older than three weeks young).

Which brings us to good ole Austin, Texas! My old home, my alma mater, and where I met and married my lovely husband. Austin has a special place in my heart, but I won’t bore you with my life story right now. Today I’ll share my first ever styled shoot which happened to take place in the capital of Texas about one year ago.

What is a styled shoot?

For those of you unfamiliar with styled shoots, they are stylized (hence styled!) sessions where a group of vendors come together to replicate a wedding. These collaborative efforts provide an excellent source of networking with fellow creatives, allow photographers and other vendors to try new ideas and step out of the box, and finally, these shoots are a great way to update everyone’s portfolio to stay with the trends. I try to attend at least one styled shoot every month or so to keep me on my game and to stay fresh!

 

Bohemian Styled Shoot at Hummingbird House

Back to the point… about a year ago I participated in my first ever styled shoot. It was hosted by the amazing Half A Rice Studios and took place at an absolutely gorgeous venue in Austin, Texas called Hummingbird House.  The vendor team was beyond amazing and it was a blast meeting such talented and kind people!

We photographed two different brides & grooms couples and today I am sharing the first one! Believe it or not, these two HAD NEVER MET! But they had chemistry like you wouldn’t believe! Just take a look for yourself…

Makeup by Felix knew just how to compliment this bohemian look with loose curls and soft makeup on Paige!

Travis was beyond dapper as he prepared to play groom for a day

These two were instantly adorable together and FULL of laughter!

I mean, seriously!? Paige and Travis met about an hour before this intimate moment.

Dancing into the night like they’d been together for years…
