For Pamela & Justin’s engagement session, we met at the very place they will be tying the knot next June—Broussard Farm in Fannett, Texas. Being local to the area, I cannot believe that I had never been here before! It’s a privately owned ranch and wedding venue with a historic home from 1857. While chatting with Jim the owner, he explained that they restored “The Broussard House” so that his daughter could have a private wedding ceremony in front of their ancestor’s gorgeous front porch. After the wedding, word got around and there was a TON of interest in hosting more weddings at Broussard Farm! To accommodate the requests, Jim transformed his large barn into Sevene Hall, a modern dance hall perfect for large receptions and events.
Justin grew up not far from Fannett in Nederland, Texas while Pamela is originally from Corpus Christi. During college years, Pamela attended A&M University—she jokes that she must be getting soft hiring a Longhorn wedding photographer!
After college, Pamela and Justin both moved to Austin where they fatefully met. They were living in the same apartment complex and continually crossed paths leading Pamela to joke that Justin was stalking her! When Justin finally worked up the nerve to ask her out, Pamela was oblivious to his intentions. She simply thought he was asking what her plans were for the weekend and that was that. Justin of course, was asking her out and took the response as her turning him down. Luckily everything was later set straight and the two started dating!
Oh and Justin is a high school baseball and football coach as well as a teacher while Pamela is a high school cheerleading coach and teacher—talk about the perfect match!
Justin planned a surprise proposal that Pamela did not see coming! One afternoon on the way to their favorite brunch spot, he pulled over to a gorgeous bluebonnet field. Pamela LOVES bluebonnets and was excited to take a few photos. That’s of course, where Justin got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. Ecstatic, Pamela immediately went to call her mother, but Justin convinced her to enjoy the moment privately. Pamela was dying to tell someone though and begged Justin to take her to visit her friends and family, but he refused. Little did she know, his and her entire family were already waiting for them at their brunch spot where they spent the afternoon celebrating and basking in their engagement!
Congratulations, you two! June can’t come fast enough!
