I’m so excited to share my session with Mary Lauren and her sweet family! Mary Lauren and I met back in college when she roomed with one of my good high school friends, Shauna! We all hung out at the University of Texas and even dressed up in coordinating Halloween costumes our freshman year—the pictures of which I hope have disappeared … I was not a cute Mad Hatter! We shared an interest in Harry Potter and many of my memories of us together are conversations discussing the plots, details, and movie cast!

Mary Lauren & Paul

Mary Lauren and Paul met in Galveston while they were both in med school. She was studying to become a Pediatric Gastroenterologist and he was working towards specializing in anesthesiology—talk about a dynamic duo! These two are obviously sharp as tacks and created the most adorable little girl who is no doubt going to follow in their footsteps of brilliance and brains.

Tobias, a.k.a “Stinky”

The couple has a sweet pup named Tobias that they adopted together a while back. Tobias, affectionately known as Stinky, was rescued from a shelter where his previous owners brought him in due to some health problems. Mary Lauren and Paul lovingly gave him a home and welcomed him into their family. He immediately had to have surgery and needs to wear diapers in the house, but these two couldn’t love him more. And if you didn’t catch the reference, his name comes from Arrested Development—since he’s always in diapers, he’s a “never nude” just like Tobias Funke!!!

Norah

Norah was just four months old at our session and she was the absolute sweetest little girl! She was all smiles and happy as a clam. As you can see from the pictures, she’s already able to stand up with some help from mom and dad and is completely infatuated with her pup brother, Tobias. We had a great time at Mercer Botanic Gardens, but by the end of the session, Norah was worn right out and ready for a nap. We took this opportunity to peacefully let her sleep while we snapped a few intimate shots of the happy parents <3
